Day 2: Pillar of Strength

Hello there! When was the last time you gave yourself a pat on the back? A treat for doing great, achieving something or reaching your goal?

The time has come for acknowledging the person who looks back at you from the mirror.

Talk to that person today and go ahead and identify that ONE strength, an internal strength, that you possess, that takes you through rough patches in life. Everyone goes through such phases and if you think back, you will uncover the strength that took you through that time earlier. Pause and think.

It is that strength, virtue or value that adheres you to your friends and soulmates, that pushes your forward and that makes you the unique being you are.

Say it aloud! Write it down in an artistic way…you are an artist, aren’t you? And put it up where you can see it everyday.

When I lost my job, I could have simply gone into my shell, felt low on confidence or self-esteem and moaned. Instead, I pushed myself out of that stupor and chose to focus on my strength, which is “resilience” – the ability to withstand anything. I knew that I could not let a loss of job pull me down. I was certain of finding work based on the skills I had. And sure enough, I successfully found something I enjoyed doing. I also spent time studying a course.

There is always something one can do. Just need to reach out for it.

It is never the end of the world. There is always sunshine when the clouds blow away!

I like this quote by Meryl Streep, “What makes you different or weird, that’s your strength!”
